Facilitation of USAID-Funded Project's Peer Learning Sessions

Client Overview:
Grit Partners was engaged by DAI Kenya and Wasafiri to play a pivotal role in the implementation of a USAID-funded project. The primary focus of this collaboration was to lead the design of Peer Learning Sessions (PLS) and actively contribute to their execution.
Project Objectives:
The USAID-funded project aimed to foster collaboration and knowledge exchange among local implementing partners, a diverse stakeholder working towards a common development goal. The Peer Learning Sessions (PLS) were identified as a key mechanism to achieve this objective, providing a platform for participants to share experiences, best practices, and insights.
Scope of Work:

Grit partners was entrusted with three key responsibilities:

1. Agenda Design Leadership:
• Grit Partners took the lead in crafting a comprehensive agenda for the Peer Learning Sessions. This involved understanding the project's goals, participant profiles, and thematic areas that warranted in-depth discussion.

• Extensive collaboration with the client's project team was essential to ensure alignment with overarching project objectives and key deliverables.

2. Collaboration with Project Team:
• Grit Partners worked closely with the internal project team to seamlessly integrate the PLS agenda into the broader project framework.

• The collaboration extended to the implementation and facilitation of the PLS, ensuring a cohesive and engaging experience for participants.

3. Facilitated Creative Group Process:
• Collaborated with DAI Kenya and Wasafiri Consulting for a USAID-funded project,bringing together participants from 45 partner/grantee organizations across Kenya.

• Co-designed and facilitated an interactive, fun-filled workshop that encouraged open and honest dialogue about partnership challenges.

• Focused on celebrating successes, acknowledging progress achieved to date, networking, and sharing synergies across project result areas.

• Emphasized positivity, humor, and kindness to highlight the unique partner dynamics within the project.
Methodology:
1. Agenda Design:
• Conducted stakeholder interviews and workshops to gather insights and identify key discussion points.

• Utilized best practices in adult learning and peer-to-peer knowledge exchange to structure the agenda effectively.

• Iterative feedback loops with the project team to refine and finalize the agenda.

2. Collaboration and Facilitation:
• Regular coordination meetings with the project team to align on logistics, participant engagement strategies, and contingency plans.

• Grit Partners played an active role during the PLS, facilitating sessions and moderating discussions.

3. Creative Group Process:
• Collaborated with DAI Kenya and Wasafiri Consulting to design and facilitate an interactive workshop that ensured a dynamic and inclusive learning environment for partner organizations.

• Emphasized open dialogue, positivity, humor, and kindness to address partnership challenges and celebrate successes.
Deliverables:
1. Final PLS Agenda:
• A detailed and well-structured agenda that met the project's objectives and received approval from the client.

• The agenda incorporated feedback from key stakeholders, ensuring a balanced and comprehensive coverage of relevant topics.

2. Final PLS Report:
• A comprehensive report that synthesized information gathered during sessions, including key insights, outcomes, and recommendations from the PLS, providing the client with valuable data for future project planning and decision-making.
Outcome:
The collaboration between Grit Partners, the project team, and partner organizations resulted in the successful execution of the Peer Learning Sessions.
